Every boat has a story, and at BoatBites, we love hearing them. That's why we're launching our Boater Spotlight series, featuring the families, friends, and crews who make life on the water special.
First up: the Delgado family from Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Meet the Crew Behind Reel Therapy
Mike and Tina Delgado spend their weekends aboard Reel Therapy, their 24-foot pontoon, with their two boys, ages 9 and 12.
Their perfect boat day starts with a morning cruise to Bean Point, where they anchor in shallow water. The boys enjoy tubing, Mike tries his luck fishing, and Tina relaxes with a book.
Everything is perfect—until lunchtime.
More Time on the Water With BoatBites
Before BoatBites, lunch meant packing up and heading back to shore.
"Before BoatBites, noon was basically the end of the day. We'd pack it up, go eat, and by the time we got back out the wind had picked up. Now we just order and stay put."— Tina Delgado
Their favorite BoatBites order? Fish tacos for the adults, a large pepperoni pizza for the boys, and two bags of ice—because Mike never brings enough.
But for the Delgados, boating is about more than food and fun.
"No phones. Well, fewer phones. Everybody's actually together. The boys talk to us out there. That doesn't happen at the house."— Mike Delgado
That's what BoatBites is all about: helping families spend more time together and less time worrying about heading back to shore.
