We believe you should be able to delete your account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to delete your Boat Bites account, what data is deleted, what may be retained for legal or security reasons, and how to contact us.

Request deletion by email 

Email us from the email address associated with your account:

  • Subject: Delete My Boat Bites Account
  • To: support@boatbites.app

We will verify ownership (e.g., by sending a short confirmation code) and complete your request.

Response time: We acknowledge deletion requests within 48 hours and complete them within 7 days (often much sooner).

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently delete or anonymize the following:

  • Account profile (name, email, phone)
  • App settings and preferences
  • Saved addresses / delivery locations
  • In-app activity logs tied to your identity
  • Support chats tied to your identity

Payments: We do not store full payment card numbers. Payment tokens and receipts held by our payment processor are unlinked from your account upon deletion.

What may be retained (and why)

Some records may be retained for a limited time to meet legal, regulatory, tax, fraud-prevention, or security obligations. Examples:

  • Transactional records and invoices (retained up to 7 years where required by law)
  • Security/audit logs (retained up to 12 months)
  • Data needed to honor chargebacks, refunds, or dispute resolution

All retained data is minimized, restricted, and access-controlled, and is deleted once the retention period ends.

Third-party services

We may use the following processors; deletion requests propagate to them per their policies after we submit the request:

  • Payments: [Stripe/Adyen/etc.]
  • Analytics/Crash Reporting: [Firebase/Google Analytics/…]
  • Customer Support: [Zendesk/Intercom/…]

Reinstalling or returning later

Account deletion is permanent. If you return to Boat Bites, you’ll need to create a new account. Previous data cannot be restored.

Export your data (optional)

Before deleting, you can request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@boatbites.app with the subject Data Export – BoatBites. We’ll provide a machine-readable file within 30 days.
